You have one or two LFOs with have limited routing options and separate envelopes for filter, pitch and amplitude for each of the parts. You get 4 parallel parts, that each contain one sample based oscillator, a filter and an amplifier. Those synths can be fun, but there are some major annoyances. The Cs2x (which is rather similar) was my first hardware synth. I reiterate, I AM WILLING TO LEARN ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, SO BRING ON THE INSIGHT! No more meticulous notes on exactly where each knob was turned, but, and I couldn't put it better than they did in the CS1x's manual: However, I have grown since then and now wish to delve deep into this extremely versatile control synth. I would like to know more about it.Īs a young kid I remember messing around with the MANY different pre-programmed voices and jammin' out to awful, pre-programmed drum loops, while I haphazardly mashed notes that probably sounded like Darude pinched one out into a blender. I happen to own a Yamaha CS1x Control Synthesizer (circa 1996).
